Climate

Generally, Vietnam has a tropical monsoon climate with hot temperatures and an extremely high average humidity. However, due to differences in latitude and some typographical differences, the climate in Vietnam varies considerably from one place to another. The average temperatures are generally higher in lowlands and plains than in the mountains and plateaus. Seasonal differences are more visible in the northern parts of the country, and the temperatures there can vary from an extreme low of 5 degrees Celsius in December and January up to 37 degrees Celsius in April. On the other hand, temperatures in the south usually vary only by few degrees between 21 and 28 degrees Celsius.
